Bylaws
Membership Requirements: Membership in the Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce is required. As a non-compete group, only one member per job category will be invited to join the group.
Absenteeism: Attendance is a priority. Six (6) absences in six (6) months or three (3) absences in a row are grounds for removal from the group.
Tardiness: Meetings start promptly at 7:30 a.m. Thursday mornings and end at 8:30 a.m.
Courtesy: Questions will not be taken during the 30-second commercials, and should be held until the completion of the 10-minute presentations or after the meeting.
Presentations: Presentations should be kept to 8-9 minutes, allowing time for questions.
Practicing presentations may be helpful to focus on the message of the presentation.
All members should respect the time limits in order for the meeting to conclude in 45-50 minutes, which allows time for further questions and conversations.
Leads: Sharing leads is the main purpose of the group. Members are encouraged to share at least 3 leads per month.
Process for Removal of Members: When a member is deemed to be in violation of any of the above guidelines, the Board of Directors may take the following steps:
Week 1: General memo is passed to the entire group reminding them of attendance, tardiness and lead sharing guidelines.
Week 2: Memo stating issues with bylaws is sent to member in violation.
Week 3: A vote of the group in attendance at the meeting will be taken regarding removal of the member. A majority of votes of those in attendance is required for removal.
Brochure Table: Each week a table will be available for members to:
· Promote any specials a company is running
· Publish announcements of upcoming events
· Offer coupons
Important! Brochures should not be passed at the table during the meeting, except as part of the 10-minute presentation.
Dues: Dues of $30.00 per quarter are due at the beginning of the quarter. Dues in arrears by the third Thursday of the quarter will be assessed a $10.00 late fee. Dues are used for brochures, advertising the club and its members, for networking events and for an annual Christmas Party for club members.
